Missions are an essential part of what makes Harbor Light Christian School unique. Every year we dedicate an entire week of school to serving others, both locally and globally. Our focus areas in recent years have included Northern Michigan, Detroit, Florida, West Virginia (Appalachia) and Guatemala. Destinations are announced each spring for the following year. Each student is required to complete a school sponsored mission trip prior to graduation.
HLCS Mission trips encourage our students to:
- Develop a heart for missions
- See the world through a Christian world view
- Put their faith into action
- Gain exposure to other cultures, religions and people groups
- Push themselves out of their comfort zone to explore their skills, gifts and talents
- Grow in empathy for our missionaries as well as those they are serving
