Academics built on the foundation of God’s Word.
Many parents in northern Michigan want their children to grow academically while deepening their faith, but options are limited—or cost too much.
At Harbor Light Christian School, we provide an accesible, Christ-centered education where students thrive both academically and spiritually, preparing them for a life of purpose and faith.
Relationship – Leadership – Impact

At HLCS, we place Christ first. Students are encouraged to own their faith, learn Scripture, and walk closely with Jesus. Rooted in Biblical authority, we nurture a Christ-centered worldview, the fruit of the Spirit, and strong connections with family, church, and community—working together in unity.

At HLCS, students learn to lead with integrity and respect, showing confidence with humility, courage with resilience, and a commitment to continual growth. They develop as independent, team-oriented individuals who are motivated and hardworking in service to others.

At HLCS, students are encouraged to know God deeply and make Him known through love, prayer, and service. They shine His light, share the Gospel, encourage others, and labor faithfully to make disciples.

At HLCS, students are encouraged to reach their highest potential, recognizing that there is always room to grow in God’s calling.
At Harbor Light Christian School, we believe a child’s first school experience should be filled with joy, discovery, and the love of Christ. Our preschool program provides a safe, nurturing environment where children are known, encouraged, and inspired to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
At Harbor Light Christian School, students grow academically and spiritually from 1st through 6th grade. Bible study is a central part of every day, starting with the Old Testament, the life of Christ, and the early church in 1st and 2nd grade, progressing to deeper study of the New Testament and apologetics curriculum in 3rd–6th grade. Students memorize verses, learn to apply God’s Word in daily life, and explore character development and Christian worldview.
Middle school is a season of tremendous growth. As students begin forming their identity and taking greater ownership of their learning and faith, they need encouragement, challenge, and strong relationships.
High school is about preparing students for life beyond graduation. We equip young men and women to think biblically, lead courageously, and serve faithfully wherever God calls them—whether in college, career, the military, trade school, or the mission field.
