Growing in Christ. Living with Purpose.
At Harbor Light Christian School, spiritual formation is at the heart of everything we do. Our mission of Preparing Next Generation Leaders for Christ shapes every classroom, relationship, and opportunity we provide.
We believe spiritual growth happens as students encounter God’s truth, experience authentic Christian community, and learn to live out their faith. We seek to do more than teach students about God—we desire to help them know Him personally, love Him deeply, and faithfully follow Him throughout their lives.
Through Bible classes, weekly chapel, retreats, discipleship groups, service opportunities, and meaningful relationships with caring staff, students are challenged to grow in Christ and discover God’s unique calling for their lives. As they grow, they learn what it means to Love God, Love Others, Lead by Serving, Know God and Make Him Known, and Grow Continuously in God’s Call.
Faith grows when it is put into action.
Students regularly have opportunities to live out what they are learning through:
These experiences encourage students to Lead by Serving and Know God and Make Him Known as they put their faith into practice.
Bible class is more than an academic course—it is an opportunity for students to know God deeply through His Word and grow to love and serve Him with their mind, heart, and hands.
As students explore Scripture, they develop a biblical worldview, learning to approach life through God’s truth. Through discussion, memorization, reflection, and application, students are equipped to develop a personal, authentic faith that shapes their character, choices, relationships, and purpose beyond the classroom.
Each year, middle and high school students participate in an off-campus retreat designed to step away from the routines of everyday life and intentionally focus on God. Through worship, biblical teaching, personal reflection, and meaningful conversations, students are encouraged to deepen their relationship with Christ while building authentic friendships with classmates and teachers.
Our prayer is that each retreat becomes a milestone in a student’s spiritual journey—a time to listen for God’s voice, strengthen their faith, and respond to His calling with greater trust and obedience.
Spiritual growth happens best in relationships.
Throughout the year, students meet in small discipleship groups where they experience authentic community, encourage one another, ask honest questions, and pray together. Guided by trusted staff members and volunteers, these groups create a safe environment for students to grow in their faith while learning what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life. Our goal is for every student to be known, encouraged, challenged, and reminded that they are deeply loved by God and have a meaningful place within the Harbor Light Christian School community.
By the time students graduate from Harbor Light, our hope is that they will:
See how Harbor Light partners with families to help students grow in Christ, discover their God-given purpose, and live out their faith with confidence.
