What is the Solid Rock Center?

We are thrilled to finally be holding classes in the Solid Rock Center expansion that allows us to build upon our current progamming in Science, Art, Music, Home Ec, and Athletics, as well as providing more space for a growing student population, and giving the community a place to exercise during the winter months.  The Solid Rock Center project aims to cement Harbor Light Christian School’s place as the premiere Christ-driven, educational alternative in the Northern Michigan area.

In March 2021, the Pistons’ floor and some hoops from the Pontiac Silverdome were acquired by HLCS. This incredible surface now serves as our “Legacy Floor,” an auxiliary gym on the upper level where we can offer concurrent training. Because of an amazing community of givers, this project is fully funded and debt-free! Our supporters will soon be able to see their names (or the name of their business or loved ones) placed on a custom wall display using pieces of the Pistons’ floor.

It is the vision of the Harbor Light Christian School leadership to see this new addition not only fill the needs of the student body, but also become an event venue, a useful resource, and a place of meeting and fellowship for the community. All individuals are invited to use the community walking track on the upper level of the gym.
